It's that time again....Tickets are now on sale for WISTA USA's 13th Annual Luncheon at the CMA Shipping Conference!  The event begins at 11:30 am on Monday, March 12th at the Hilton Stamford Hotel in Stamford, CT.  CMA's Shipping 2018 Conference begins as soon as the luncheon ends.  The luncheon has sold out for a number of years, so don't delay - secure your seat today!  Tickets are $70 for WISTA members and $80 for non-members, and prepayment is required.

WISTA USA is proud to announce Cherrie Felder, Vice President of Channel Shipyard Companies, as our Keynote Speaker.
After graduating from Vanderbilt University, CHERRIE FELDER moved to New Orleans and served for four years as the Assistant to the Chief Curator of the New Orleans Museum of Art, cataloguing the Victor Kiam collection of African art. The following two years, she was Executive Director of the New Orleans Rodeo, managing all aspects of producing a professional rodeo. She then began her career in the brown water maritime industry, where she has earned thirty-eight years of experience, beginning as Marine Division Traffic Manager with Torco Oil Company, followed by two years at Riverside Ventures as Canal Traffic Manager. From there Ms. Felder worked as manager of governmental affairs, sales and risk for Marine Inland Transportation Company Inc., marketing representative for Blessey Marine Services Inc., and has served the past eighteen years as Vice President of Channel Shipyard Companies, responsible for governmental and legislative action.
For the past thirteen years, Ms. Felder has served as Chairman of the Coast Guard Lower Mississippi River Waterway Safety Advisory Committee, and is currently serving consecutive terms as Treasurer of the Coast Guard Foundation, a fundraising organization focused on the well-being, education, morale and critical support of the men and women of the U. S. Coast Guard, and Treasurer of Waterways Council, Inc., a national advocacy group for optimal federal funding of the nation's ports and waterways. A Past President of the Gulf Intracoastal Canal Association, she is now on the Executive Committee. Presently, she is also Vice Chairman of the National Waterways Foundation and a Board member of the Louisiana Association of Waterway Operators and Shipyards. Previously she served on the Boards of Directors of the American Waterways Operators, the National Waterways Conference, the Shipbuilders Council of America, the Maritime Navigation Safety Association and was a member of the Louisiana Governor's Maritime Advisory Task Force. From 1993 to 1995 Ms. Felder was President of the Greater New Orleans Barge Fleeting Association.  
Ms. Felder is a member of the New Orleans Business Alliance Transportation Trade and Logistics Industry Council, the Louisiana Freight Advisory Council, the New Orleans Port Safety Council, the Women's International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA), the Executive Committee of the Eighth Coast Guard Area Maritime Security Committee, the New Orleans Chapter of Infragard and the Gulf Coast Joint Hurricane Response Team. She has also served on the Louisiana Ports and Waterways Advisory Council, the FBI Central U.S. Transportation Special Intelligence Committee and the Horizon Initiative Waterways Management Infrastructure Committee.
She is proudly an honorary member of ADMIRALTY, an organization of younger people working in the maritime industry, and a member of Women in Maritime Operations (WIMOS).
An avid sailor, Cherrie is a member of Southern Yacht Club in New Orleans and participates on SYC's Team Racing team.
In November 2017, Ms. Felder received the National Rivers Hall of Fame National Achievement Award for her contributions to "the great story of the Rivers of America", and in December was honored with the Seamen's Church Institute River Bell Distinguished Service Award "for a career dedicated to the Maritime Industry and America's Inland Waterways".  
Ms. Felder has received two U.S. Coast Guard Meritorious Public Service awards. She was recognized by the Greater New Orleans Barge Fleeting Association as the 1996 Maritime Person of the Year and received the title Director Emeritus in 2009. In 2004, Marine News featured Ms. Felder as one of six workboat industry "Leaders of the Pack". In June 2013, Southern Yacht Club awarded her the Top Gallant Award.
