This year's event was organized under the theme: "The Blue Economy: What place for the Moroccan woman?" This theme matches with the overall vision of the 2050 Integrated African Maritime Strategy, which aims to foster the creation of increased wealth from Africa's oceans and seas by developing a sustainable and prosperous blue economy in a safe and environmentally sustainable way.
WISTA Morocco also organized this event to participate in the international campaign " Press for Progress" aiming to raise the awareness about gender equality all over the world.
And like last year, WISTA Morocco Award was given to 2 outstanding women.

The objectives of this event are to :
1. Celebrate International Women's Day, which is an annual event to remember the progress made on gender equality and to highlight the changes needed to achieve equality;
2. Celebrate the courage and perseverance of Moroccan women who have played a significant role in the development of the sea related activities in Morocco by awarding the "WISTA Morocco Award" to the most outstanding women
3. Present the results of the study on the work of women managers done recently by Decryptis
